MPC Ren Vs MPC 2500

Okay, so i have the maschine but im bored with using it, its okay but it is lacking something. So now im using fl studio and reason.

Im looking to buy a Mpc ren or 2500.

Which one should i buy ? If you was me what would you buy out of the 2?

And btw i learned how to use the mashine in a week, i have no problem understanding how to use these, so software or hardware is no problem for me.

The only thing i care about is the workflow and drum patterns and how easy it is to get my ideas out of my head to produce the sound i want..

what was the maschine lacking that you stopped using it and are now doing in fl and reason? Is it features or what? cause there is a chance both the ren and the 2500 will lack those same things.. essentially, you gotta figure that out.. cause you dont use a hammer to rake leaves... right?

yeah thats true, it was the way it recorded drums, they were out of pattern even with the quantize on, it was just awkward and annoying when i was recording my drum patterns, and i basically couldnt be bovered with it...

Basically i want the mpc for the drum programming..

and also sampling of course, its the drums in my beats that are lacking and i think the mpc would help..

Well Maschine timing of recorded notes or the users perception of it will depend on the interface used. I had to get a $1300 interface, but my Maschine is like a millisecond off a hardware MPC. Also the Maschine GUI renders the note block slower than they actually go in I think. When people look at the screen as they enter the live input I think this may screw up people's perceptions too.


But that aside it sound like quick drum programming, sampling and tight MIDI at low latency are your key wants. Certainly a 2500 covers all that, as long as the limits of the machine and small LCD don't bother you.

why have you narrowed it down to the 2500 or the ren?

have you considered a 1000?

the renaissance seems to have a lot of stuff i personally wouldnt ever use or need, not to mention the fact its not a standalone machine and requires your computer.

I am using Reason and the Ren for me it's a monster match up. You can export your drum tracks separately from the Ren and port them right into Reason same track names and all I'd get the Ren if I were you plus akai has been keeping they're promise with the updates too.
