Anyone notice that when you stretch a note in Main Mode that it shows a value at the beginning of the note? What does that value represent? I know it has something to do with how long the note is, but how is it useful?

Yeah is the lenght in clicks or ticks or pulses or whatever it's name is. Is the lesser division of a beat
like the distance from 1.1.0 to 1.2.0 are 960 every beat, 960x4 every bar.240 every 1/16th note

^I BEEN SAYING they need fix the note repeat so Jah what are you talking about, I was saying this months ago, but glad u mentioned it, didnt realize they fixed it in 1.3, now I can use note repeat with a workflow im accustomed to on mpcs.

Actually when I mentioned this, you tried to ridicule me as if it was nothing, now u are using it to make your point. Lol, dude u cant play both sides of the fence.

I am not playing any sides. As I mentioned above, I don't recall anyone discussing this. What was broke in Note Repeat exactly?

And I didn't ridicule you....not unless you said something to provoke me.

That doesn't change anything I was saying before

Bait and switch? Okayyyy

Peace Jah

What I said brings some perspective. You made comments about beta testers not being MPC users and/or implied they don't make music. But then you have numerous MPC Ren users that claim they make music with the Ren and not aware of certain issues like the ones I mentioned above.

Before 1.3 you would have to press shift then note repeat, in that exact order, other mpcs you could hold note repeat and press shift, it worked both ways vice versa, wasnt like that before 1.3, had to always press shift before note repeat, now it works both ways, u can now press note repeat and shift in that order now also to activate note repeat. This is what I was always used to. I remember discussing this and you said something like the Ren doesnt have to be like every other mpc but I thought it was an important but little overlooked feature related to workflow and what i was familiar with.

I must say though, as long as akai keeps ironing out these little bugs and stability issues, adding key features, and listens to the mpc users while communicating with us at the same time, this thing is becoming a beast. I'm hoping by the end of the year they can have the Ren up to par as the best mpc ever made. It sure is possible. easy. When I see dudes come in this forum who dont own a Ren talking shit it's hilarious because if you own the Ren its obvious it has the potential to surpass the 4000 which many think is the best mpc, In my opinion it has surpassed every mpc I know of except the 4000, and the 1k,25k with JJOS as of 1.3.

well besides that, what was broken in note repeat? Thats the only thing I noticed. Can you explain what YOU were referring to?
By foge1 Thu Feb 28, 2013 1:27 am
Maybe people didn't talk about it jah because so many things were wrong in 1.2 where would u start. I just packed it away.

I have started cracking through the Ren now on 1.3 because it is in a usable state.
Even then 5 mins with the keyggroup sampling exposed a pile of minor issues

Something to bear in mind is we bought the unit to make music not laboriously report bugs. That's your job :)

Please Test the keyggroup sampling thoroughly and report all bugs to akai .
Keep up the good work

Unlikely....Ren users and non-Ren users alike have been in this forum nearly everyday since Akai announced it over a year ago and even more so since the Ren was released back in August. Issues have been discussed at great lengths. And issues that I find obvious have been overlooked.

Using note repeat with an external controller......
