Does anyone want empty .PGM files with chromatic order?

I think more MPC Forums' members should share with this kind of files. This maybe a conflict of interest with the site owner (who sells data files for MPCs), but I'd like to see this type of projects done by other members more than many childish & mindless threads on Off-Topic sections.

With MPC-2000XL (I've never played with other MPCs), you can program it as a nice sound module for keyboard for 64 note MIDI keyboard, and you can layer key with your beats on 2000XL, since with 2000XL, up to 4 programs can be used at the same time, you can layer your keys on your beats on MPC without using external sound module. This is great for playing baselline on your MIDI keyboard and save it as a sequence. With 32 polyphony, you can do a lot with it.

I'm a bit too busy now, but I'd like to make a MPC program with piano sound, electric piano, etc.
so that I can play keys with MPC with a MIDI keyboard. Probably it won't be that great (piano's harmonics cannot be duplicated or imitated with simple sample triggering), it may be somewhat useful.

I sent this to another forum member already... because I couldn't think of what it could be useful for..

essentially, it's for serato (or a freeware DJ program called MIXX which is what I used). You run outputs 3/4 into your interface (doesn't matter what brand) into deck A, and outputs 5/6 into your interface into deck B... I have the frequency looping at different pitches as you will see in params...

Maybe someone can come up with a practical use for this idea.. maybe someone could expand on this idea.. or maybe someone could have 30 minutes of entertainment with this idea... I didn't expand any further than what you will see in the download.

Oh, P.S. unzip/unRAR the packed file.. drag all the contents onto a floppy disk or CF card. load the all programs and sounds, and you can load all sequences and songs too.

comes with:
three MPC programs (empty .PGM file with chromatic order, two .PGM files with chromatic order with sinewaves assigned) and corresponding sound files
a nice PDF documentation (with minor update)

Doesn't everybody do this? This was the second thing I did... The first was to make a beat and use MIDI to send it to Nuendo for archive and doubling...that's when I realized the default assignments were ALL jacked up! So, I did just this, and created a program "chromatic 35-98"(or something like that) and I load that up first thing. Another neat idea: if you've got a nice analog mono, record some single cycle waves at the tritones(c0-f#0-c1...etc) and loop them. Then assign to each pad using tuning...for simple bass/lead with no resonance the 2k filter/AD envelope works just fine.

Something that took me way too long to notice is the fact you don't even have to copy your MIDI order program. The default PROGRAM pad assignments for newly created programs just follow the MASTER pad assignments. So you just have to correct the MIDI order for MASTER pad assignents, the delete all programs. From then on all new programs will also be in the correct order. Store this as an .APS on your OS disk, it will autoload the MASTER pad assignments every time you boot up.

The "copy note parameters" screen is really frustrating if you don't have the MIDI chromatic order set
