Hi all,

Can we make some sort of list of instruments that are compatible with the XML system a.k.a. have had custom XML GUIs created for them?

So far the obvious for Mac and PC are the AKAI ones
Any others yet? I know it's a bit soon but...

Cool, thanks. I might look into making some. I created some skins for VST synths in the past e.g. http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=1445157 my skin for z3ta+ indigo RMX.

I have also designed websites and have done a fair amount of coding so XML isn't too difficult.

Hmmm now I just have to decide which synth to do first :D

Not a bad idea, I started working on a new skin for it a while back. I'll see if I can find my prior work (I've swapped a lot of computers since then)

*edit : I also need to see what kind of limitations I'm up against with the new XML system, I'll post back later.

I have the tal-elek7ro .xml file, but it doesn't work...

Can you please tell me, do i only have to put the .xml file and the images into the "plugin layouts" folder? If that's all, the problem could be i have the elek7ro II plugin, maybe it doesn't work with that...

I'm on OS X 10.6.8 by the way. Thank you!

We are limited to 6 pages of controls so obviously in many cases on many synths that are fairly complicated you won't be able to assign every control. This leaves the designers deciding which controls to add and which ones to leave out. This may take some time with decision making but I'll think it through and see if I can come up with something good.

It would be cool if they expanded on this allowing multiple sets of pages so that we could have more than 6, it's sort of limiting currently.

Maybe something like a shift+ something to toggle between two sets of 6 pages for a total of 12?

I tried making a 7th page in the XML file just to see what happened and it crashed the software lol

Yep just follow the layout/folder structure that has already been created for the current XML setups.

Also you have to have the exact same synth otherwise it wont work. The XML references a specific plugin name. You could try editing the XML to work with the newer version by changing the name in the top of the XML file to match the new Synth name... don't know if it will work though but it might be worth a shot. Otherwise just download the correct version of the synth if you want to use the embedded GUI.
