flash memory write error when saving to phrase library

Hey,

After higligting midi events in seq edit window pressing copy and library I get a pop up saying SYSTEM ERROR!

flash memory write error!


What am I doing wrong then?

It could be the HD or it could have invalid characters in the file name. I would have to try to reproduce that issue on my 4k. I know when I bought my 4k I couldn't save anything to my HD. I had to buy a new HD.

V1.50 addendum manual says that the parameters saved into Flash Memory are not erased after power off.

My phrase library is erased after power off, so is this serious trouble or easy fix?

that is very easy;
just press copy in the seq edit window and then press library.
then the error message pops up

Do you have OS 1.71

yes, its the latest OS

and this mpc was twice the price of the others on ebay (except a very expensive one, previously owned by some famous rapper)
as it is in very nice condition with all uppgrades except the adat card.

and the reason I bought this was to have less chance for surprises like this..


I have been busy lately anyway, and I bought a spectralis last week, so I have been occupied with that, but I would really, really like to get this problems sorted and dive into learing and using the mpc !!!!

Is it possible to find a flash rom thing to buy somewhere?
There is not anything like that on mpcstuff.com for the 4000

Honestly I have never tried to use the phrase library.

Maybe this is an unknown bug.

if it was a bug I guess google would find any results when googling
"flash memory write error"

I can save to the Library and the info is still there when I switch the machine back on. There must be an exact procedure for putting it back into a sequence, because it's only pasting the first 2 notes.

Either that or it's a bug.

That feature is working fine on mine. The seller probably didn't use that feature so he didn't think anything was wrong with it.
