It is WAY LESS efficient to chop with a single dial used for both start and end points vs having dedicated knobs for both start and end. The method you are requesting would require constant cursoring back and forth between the start and end editing fields for each slice just so you can use the single data wheel to chop. I've used this method for the past 15 years on MPC's and let me tell you, the Rens dedicated Q Links are WAY faster!
+67Million.
Years of making beats. Years of making mad beats. I know efficiency,
at least for the way I work. Why have one hand doing two things,
when you can just have two hands? lol. How this is more efficient seems elementary to me. It's the same logic behind multicore processors.
In the end, whats efficient to some is inefficient to others.
One thing though. I don't think we have to worry about the Qlink functions being removed. I think even Akai knows thats a no go. But it would be cool to add the usage of the data wheel the way it was previously...just for those nostalgic guys.
