PC USB 3.0 ports

Just did a little research on the noise that pops up when using the ren for 20 minutes or so. It will start to crack and pop and the screen gets really laggy.

I found out that there are issues with some of the new PC ports that are USB 3.0. Some of these chips are not fully backwards compatible. I have not truly tested this yet because I'm at work, but i'm convinced that this could be part of my noise issues. I don't think this happened on my old desktop when I was using 1.1.

The only way I could be rid of the noise was to close the MPC software and reboot my system. BTW i'm running on a SONY VIAO All-in-One touchscreen with quad processor and 6 GB's of RAM and Windows 8.

Also I ran a latency checker and everything looked good, but still had noise after 20 or 30 minutes of usage.

I haven't had those issues since I disabled the wireless network adapter of my computer.

It seems that there's some issues with the new range of MacBook Pro and their USB3 implementations ... And the consequences are the same than yours !
Does anybody have an idea ?

I've read something about needing to disable the energy saving thing, it's stopping usb ports after 20 minutes of using the ren without touching the computer. (windows)
Not sure if it's really the cause of your problems.

You should disable any and all power saving options on either OS for DAW work.

Device manger/USB/disable power saving. Do the same on HD's. On OS X I believe it's in Settings/Preferences. Control Panel/Power/Enable High Performance Mode on Windows is also worth doing.

NI interfaces had issues with new USB3 ports on Macs so USB3 issues are happening elsewhere too. I'm still using USB 2.0 for everything.

I have disable anything and everything that creeps and crawl in windows background without bring it to its knees and shutdown on me. This only delays the problem. So instead of it coming on 20 minutes in a session now it come on 45 minutes into the session. One little spike and the MPC software goes bonkers. Lol.

I will stress test it tonight after work on my USB 2.0 slots. I happen to have both on my system. And I will post the results.

I have exactly the same problem as you, but in macbook pro 13 "with usb3. within 30 MINUTES ago crackling audio, and you need to reboot the mpc. impossible to work. while I just tested on my ren my old pc, and everything works very well. native instruments has found the solution to his kontrol s4 for a long time already. akai but what? conclusion, although just ca usb3 port and drivers mpc renaissance ...... ........

Well I tested the MPC on my PC for about an hour with vst's, at the same time I surfed to soundcloud, and a few other operations and it did not crackle one bit. Therefore I am convinced that my crackle and pop problem was my USB 3.0 ports. I don't know if this will fix anything for anyone else but try to use USB 2.0 ports if available.

I really think akai must do something now. I do not know how many people post and they need to be able to react, but I think they should not delay to react and leave the situation worse. cut the root evil ............

Now i'm waiting for an e-mail from them, like they said by phone.
It's 2015 already and akai didn' fix it. It's 1.8.2 os and chuj.

On a PC, go into the Bios during start up and set USB ports to legacy 2.0 and that will disable 3.0
