Finally... I just bought an MPC4000 :)

That was me who snagged that thanks to Clint.

I was looking at the service manual and it appears that the screen housing breaks down into a million different pieces, so I'll replace it when I absolutely need to. The screen on mine is dim but clear and very easy on the eyes over a long session.

I see what you saying but I always sent my unit in for repairs I leave the technical stuff to Mr Nakamura over here. However, I get good rates OS the installation isn't too bad. Just I'm always buying this or that module or plugin and like Coz the display is soft and I will probably wait til it's blank then get it replaced.

One of the best things about the 4k and keygroup programs is to hook up a midi controller keyboard like Korg Kontrol 49 to the 4k go into program matrix, map all of the knobs, modulation wheel and pitch bend control from the kk49 or similar and play out. You will a more synthy type controls beyond the pads and qlinks.

Yeah,It's the original AKAI so no cutting corners in making the 4K. The Pads are strictly for making music, not commands. It has 15 dedicated function keys!

The screen does get dimmer throughout the years. I plan on getting mine replaced soon.

My screen is on the duller side of white, but its always been that way.

Really nice one Tutor. Before my wife gifted me the 5000 I had resolved to spend my loot on the 4000 instead. but it never happened. this was a good flip Tutor. Congrats man. Is this your 2nd 4000?
