Hard drive question

Hello everyone,
I've searched high and low for an answer to the problem i'm having. I bought my MPC2500 about a month ago. When I installed the hard drive it doesn't show up at all. When I go to format it, it doesn't show up to select it either. I took off the bottom panel to make sure all the connections and ribbon cables are tight. I'm running the stock Akai os version 1.24 and the hard drive is a seagate momentus 5400.2 100GB.

Oh and I forgot I have the TEAC DW-224E-C93 without the pin mod. I came installed although it doesn't really work. I put in a disk and it just flashes and it doesn't show up in the record menu either. Neither the DVD rom nor the HD works with the other removed.

on the back of your hard disk make sure pin configuration is set to master and try it out without the cd-rom drive. if it works do pin mod on the cd-rom, this will make it slave and now both should work without problem. let us know how it works out

Ok so I took the hard drive out to check out the pin config. On the HD it says no jumpers make it master. I pulled the cd drive out turn on the MP and it still doesn't show the HD.

what you reporting back isnt turning out to be good news, are you 100% positive hard disk you have is functional ?

It was used my buddy gave it tome me out of a old laptop he had. So I'm not out any cash if it's bad. I can hear it spin up when I turn on the MP. If it doesn't work out I'll probably do the SSD conversion with the duel CF cards.
