how can i edit mpc 60 files on my computer? is this possible?

It may depend on your MPC OS. From what I remember, Awave will not handle the OS2.x files.

I have freeware that will convert MPC60 3.x OS SND files to WAV and back again. This will allow you to use your favorite editor on your PC.

Not sure why MPC-Tutor did not recommend this first. :)

my mpc 60 has ver. 2.02

2.02? Ouch, not even Awave will help you there. There is no software out there that can handle that format that I am aware of. I could write one but there has been near zero demand for it (plus Linn has done some favors for me and I am not sure if I feel right about making a product that would not help his 3.x sales).

You will not regret it. Best thing for the 60 since pads!

If you can get the SCSI and all that (memory if you don't have the full 26.2 seconds) do it. It comes out cheaper than if you want to get it later.

Oh, and get the MPC editor if you are on PC after you get the upgrade.

i ve downloaded the mpc wavesnd editor (www.mpc3000.com/software.htm) and it doesnt work. a message with the following text appears “opening this file does nothing, see the wavsnd.txt file for instructions.
i ve tried to start the program on 2 different pcs with 2 different windows versions (win xp and win 98) and it doesnt work.

wavsnd.txt would have the answer and it goes something like:

Drag and drop wav or snd files onto wavsnd.exe and it does the rest.

is there a trick how i can convert mpc 60 files with wavsnd. because when i try to drop a sample on the wavsnd.exe, windows says me ...snd not supported mpc file.

By mpc3000 Sun Aug 24, 2003 10:19 pm
MPC60 files are not supported. You can go from PC-> MPC but not the other way with the 60.
