MPC Renaissance and MPC Studio v1.3 & 1.31 Bug Reports

Does the Ren stable standalone without using any 3rd Party Plugins and working in standalone ?

Not at all, i was just using the REN and for the first time with 1.3 it crashed while i wasn't even playing anything at all. i Touched a Q link knob and it crashed ( i was juts about to adjust the start point of my sample inside SAMPLE EDIT


i had sylenth1 on a track one ( on MUTE)
and i was on track 2, adjusting the start point of the sample and it crashed before the knob turned??

i hve never experience anything like that on heavy use on 1.1 and 1.2

its like theres more bugs than there was before, it JUST CRASHES for no reason , without CPU USAGE

Do your Notes hang when you play Sylenth 1?

I have to play mine from the pads when I play from my midi keyboard notes just keep on sustaining.

This also happens with some other synths also.

Hey, i don't know if this is a bug or just me doing something wrong here.
This problem was already there at 1.2 though.

When in song mode, and I export a track to a wav or mp3
I got to make a silent bar at first to not make it play some random drum or interrupt the first pad or what ever at the start of the beat.. It's getting enoying getting a intro with a missing first bar.

I'm doing something wrong right?

Yeah, that's annoying. You need to make sure that you're at the beginning of the song when you start exporting. Or you could add a blank bar as you do.

here's one thing thats been bugging me for awhile, but just got much worse in 1.3.1

and im sure someone mentioned this..

when you're in chop mode using the q-links to adjust samples - the slice points will often randomly jump back to the previous chop point, making me have to scroll over back to its original spot. a real pain sometimes, and lengthens the process... another big thing for editing chops would be if it was set to one shot instead of note on.. or at least able to toggle between the two! peace

yes, ren is getting more stable

When I went to install the MPC v1.3.1.app this window came up...

Update MPC v1.3.1.app is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

I tried downloading it over & over again restarting my computer running OSX 10.8...........so it works fine for everyone else??

bug : when you insert a blank bar before bar #1 in a sequence and the hit play it starts at -1 bars instead of 0 and eventually crashes.. gotta save and restart for sequence to work properly again

-Sometimes pressing undo will jump back multipe steps

-Lost samples in my project....

I was building a beat everything was fine. It was about an hour and a half into my project with no problems. I had been saving every 10-15 minutes just in case of a crash.

I pressed PAD ASSIGN and tried to select a sample for the pad I was on, and my QLINKS suddenly stopped working. A few seconds later my mpc hw lcd screen said "Loading" with the loading bar animation. 45 seconds later the software becomes functional again without crashing.

Only 1 thing. I am missing samples from earlier in my project. The sequence remained, just my kick sample and snare sample had disappeared from my project list that I had made earlier and had saved in my project multiple times. So the file should of been saved because I know I saved.

So I close the software, re-open it, my project is missing those samples but the sequence and everything is there except these 2 important kick and snare samples I had worked an hour on to get them banging to match the beat. So I just scrapped the beat and left it.

Saving projects, and how the software handles files needs another look at, def some bugs in there.

You must delete sylenth1 component/vst and reinstall it...worked for me

If you have your T.C. on 32nds or higher, the step sequencing is broken, it completely ignores the second half of the bar, measure or whatever.

Not a bug. User error. Page 84 of manual outlines how this feature works.

To my understanding, Erase Except Notes erases all data with the exception of note date events and note modifiers. But when you strike the pads, they illuminate but don't show up on the LCD as seen when you select the Erase Note option. This is confusing and not clearly documented in the manual.

I expected that when I struck the pads, those are the pads that wouldn't be erased.

So this issue can be one of two different bugs based upon the intended functionality...and really needs to be explained clearly in the manual.

Confirmed/reported. This function was possible in earlier versions. This is a bug or a spec change. If it is a spec change, it should be written in the manual.
