The ANALOGUE FILTER thread...

im looking for a dirtier and grittier sounding filter, so it sounds like the filter factory will be the one for me.

i think the filter factory is the one, hard to find though... can only find one on ebay for like 3 bills.

i hope it was all helpful. As for the price of those filters now its probably because someon realized that MPC heads like them. because i swear last year they were lik $75 to $120 at most. thanks for the 5000 compliment too.

Yeah man, I sold it while Moog was still alive too. Every time I see the MF-101, I wanna kick myself for selling it.
The same person who sold it to me had a Korg MS-20 and a Roland TR-909 for sale back then. I should've bought both of those too. What the **** was I thinking?

i know man... how would we know that this stuff would be so sought after now a days. i had a tb 303 at one point, a buddy of mine had a sp12. he thought he gave it to me. turned out it was in a truck of his that got stolen we never put two and two tegether until years later.

well sought after yeah... but maybe instead of getting those and maybe cause you sold the pedal.... you got something that you could use.. or it was the better piece of gear to fit in with what you were doing at the time... I dunno.. trying to find the positive in that haha... maybe low pass moog filtering would have ruined the music you were working on back then... ah who am I kidding, that filter probably sounds good on everything! haha..


Though, I always wondered about that pedal's design... like, it's a pedal, the switch looks like the only thing you want to touch with your shoe... right? but I find filters you want to be messing with the knobs while a sound is going through it, which means it wouldn't be on the floor...

Damn, that sucks about the SP12.
I bought a TB-303 on ebay in 2005. But I returned it because it had a few problems.
As far as not buying the MS-20, I didn't know much about modular synths at the time, and had no idea how to sync it to MIDI either. I also read something at the time about the MS-20 back in 2002 when I was gonna buy it that suggested that something could be wrong with the unit. But I can't recall what it was and didn't understand anything about it. So I didn't wanna take a gamble. But for $600, I should've, since it was an old friend of mine who was selling it (as well as the 909) and would've given me my money back if there was something wrong with it.
The 909 had a few scratchy pots and a button or two that didnt work so well. If I knew back then what I know now, I could've fixed it with no problem.
10+ years later, the prices have doubled on these machines. It's crazy!

Yeah I forgot what I bought when I sold that and some other analog gear. But looking back, it wasnt worth it.
As far as the sound and the design, it was incredible. I never used it as a floor pedal. It always sat next to some gear on a stand. It's definitely something you don't wanna stomp, even though the construction is solid.
