syncing and multitracking

aight this might have been covered before but im trying to track some of my beats in nuendo, 1 track at a time since i have a 1 channel soundcard

but even with nuendo synced to my mpc, i have it on record, so when i press play on my mpc it starts to record, but its inconsistant with the timing, itll start recording a little bit differant every time it seems..

anyone know how to get this really solid ? or any way to work around this..
i know i could use count-in then align that, but i dont know if thatll be as exact as it should be, or what...

can anyone share on this?

slave the mpc to nuendo, best way IMO.

Do you mean slaving Nuendo to mpc is less stable? Why is that?

Since you are recording into Nuendo it would be better if it were the master.

Also make sure you set the tempo in nuendo so you can have everything aligned. I usually just record 8 bars into nuendo and then sequence it by copying and pasting to save time and drive space. I use to record the whole song using my 8 inputs, but the files would be like 600-700 MB. Last thing don't forget to add a bar of silence if recording the whole track instead of an 8 or 4 bar loop.

yup, the recorder is better as master, at least in my experience.

why add a bar of silence ?

to sync probally. Sometimes it takes like a sec to get it self on point. wiht the bar it should be perfect

I usually add two or 4 bars of silence as the first section in song mode. It syncs up nicely.

yeah i would do that with next seq (not a fan of song mode, if i use it i got a freind to transcribe what im doin in next seq and track mute so i enter it into song mode later, cant beat that live seq'in ) for trackin with cubase. A bar would be perfect.

yeah, I just match it with what I'm working with up to 4 bars, If I have 8 or 16 bar sequences then I just use 2 or 4, same bpm etc.

I didn't like song mode at the beginning, but I've grown to love it.

I had that problem with all tracking not lined up. The fix is the transport controller has auto quantize feature it will start the record session but will repair itself to the correct time block. Be sure to use the midi time code in the mpc peferable to use 25. Also look at the begining of the track and you will see a blue line that will line up all of your tracks in correct quantization.

I've noticed when looking at the wav's closely, the things that should start at the first beat, don't quite line up. This auto quantize feature, will that fix this problem? And is it available in Cubase SX?

New Issue and not one site have I found details on this subject.
First Nuendo/Hypersonic has ability to have midi sent to each channell but when you use the MPC (I'm using the 2000xl) I can select a diffrent channell on the MPC and record but when it places back in Hypersonic it will pay all the sounds that are opened in hypersonics channell screen. The midi is sending to all the channells and not just the one recorded on in MPC. It will even do this in playback mode. The MPC has the ability to change the sound in hypersonic on the orange highlighted channell. The big question of the day is how should the MPC midi Out be sent to Hypersonic and does hypersonic receive the midi messages in different midi channells? Ex:
Hypersonic program
*midi track 1 = strings
*midi track 2 = Strat
*midi track 3 = Marimba
the MPC will not play all three diffrent midi channells instead it will only play one of the or all if it is linked as a multi strike sound. Hypersonic has outputs on the Nuendo mixer console how do i route to have all sounds go to different tracks and play together.
