Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

MPC Studio came today, went straight into chopping up some samples. Yes, i chopped them in a way where I had to create a program manually as I do on the 4000.

Please tell me I am doing something wrong, I have 16 chops that I need to assign to a program, go to PGM edit and use the Q link as described in the manual.

Now pad1 scroll to first sample xxxx 1, then hit pad 2, and to assign next... have to scroll through the whole list of samples to even the next sample. The 4000 would just logically (and correctly) assume i want to map the next sample in the list and give me just that after one click.

If that is the case this is just wack, the whole PGM edit on the hardware looks neglected. #Fail

Not happy at the moment. (and **** no i do not want to use the mouse)

My biggest beef: the filename of the samples are not showing fully, the Q link does not click like the scroll ones, sucks big time). When changing samples I don't know which sample I am exactly on, i could be moving 2 samples up the list or one. Its very confusing. wtf?

i chopped it up so many times the sample ends with S10S10S02, good luck finding out which is the next chop... the Q links dont click so that makes it even more difficult. Its weak, had to go to MPC soft and find the right chops

Sequential assigning of chops should come under the 'iconic MPC workflow' tag. Unless it's only the 4K that does it and JJ jacked the same method? :hmmm:

Coz: Thank you, MPC5000 does it too. Less scrolling is a bonus, I'm most annoyed about the q links, they dont click and it just feels wrong.

For the record, maschine is not the subject matter here, lets move on.

The Mpc Ren can do this but you're in the wrong mode. Press the button on your hardware that says PAD ASSIGN just to the left of the F keys. Then you can easily assign to each pad quickly and it even knows which sample you were on in your sample list so it automatically makes the next sample go on the next pad. Where you are is Prog Edit. That's where you are layer your sounds.

The MPC Ren does this, the original poster just didnt realize

Also I believe (not sure as of 1.3)that you can assign samples in PAD ASSIGN mode with the data wheel so you get a better feel when browsing through samples

InspectahEX: Thank you, interesting how many posts it took for someone to point this out.

I am compiling a list of improvements, will post when its ready.

1.3 PAD ASSIGN WORKS WITH DATA WHEEL: no rant necessary at this point :)
