Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

-ability to track out songs with the drum hits separated, as opposed to having each part of the drum pattern playing (Maschine is a prime example of doing this right) it's hard these days to sell beats without the track outs properly done.

tempo reading (Maschine is good at this too)

hardware zoom in out of the wave file. like Maschine

showing the notes of the 16 levels. like Mashine.

probably wondering why I don't have Maschine? naw, I like where the Ren may be headed, hopefully the next update will clear my thoughts up on it.

Just had to point out that two companies that are leaders in their respective fields are also not 64 bits (or just recently added support for 64 bits). This puts things in proper perspective.

No it doesn't because those are not brand new products. Pro Tools has been around since 1991. And the UA plugins have been around for several years as well. It's a lot harder to turn an existing product built on 32-bit only architecture (RTAS) to 64 bit, than it is to write a brand new 64 Bit app from a clean slate! The MPC is a completely new software platform with no prior version compatibility to worry about.

big suggestion!
Song mode editing, meaning :
in the current songmode the pads lighting represents the sequences in song mode....

lets say i made two sequences, containing about 10 tracks, 1 sequence for the verses and 1 sequence for the chorus.... now i can allready place them however i want, however i am not able to mute tracks, in song mode, so now i have to copy sequences and deleting some tracks, add sum stuff here and there, for the build up of the song etcetera.....

i want to be able to place those 2 sequences to my liking, and then press record, and play the song, and be able to automate, and mute individual tracks while playing the song (not changing the sequence, but just the part of the SONG i want) so for instance i have
sequence 1 - rep 4
i want to be able to make changes in maybe the second and fourth repeat of that particular sequence while the sequence itselfs doesnt change, only in song mode....
and maybe pre-determine some effects on the q-links,on pre-determined tracks in the song... (like a reverb on a snare in sum parts of the song)
we can use the touch-sensitive q-link for muting tracks, but i rather have them on the pads itself.... so u should have some alternate screen within song mode, and be able to switch and having the pads representing the tracks (instead of the sequences it represents now)
also it would be great if u could apply some sounds for breaks, and fun stuff(percussions, reversals, turntable spins, maybe even scratches) on some pads, where u can play with while playing/recording the song.....making it a unique SONG instead of a collection of sequences

this feature would be great if u have recorded your vocals on raw sequences, and then edit and build up your song, while playing it back, and it would be great for live performance.....

i hope anybody understands what i mean, since english isnt my native language....
but in theory u could make a whole song with just two or maybe even 1 sequence.....

maybe someone can explain my point better, or maybe have more suggestions conceirning song-mode editing/workflow, and contributes to further improve my idea.....(maybe connect song mode to track mute/pad mute-mode/button, and q-linkmode/button?)

i think if akai pulls this one off....it killed not only machine, but also dj-gears/samplers/ableton live stuff etcetera....

  just make a youtube video of me making a beat just two sequences, bring in method man let us smoke one :smoker: , let him spit verses and chorus, and then smoke another one, while playing back the track and editing on the fly, making a song with two sequences in less then 15 minutes, maybe for commercial purposes the smoking should be skipped but u get the point :fku: , and if holland is too far, im dying to hear the combo method man / dj hellfire...

1. My Multi-output instrument support... A Must!

What I'm attempting to show here is how the REN should make available a plugin mixer which matches to the number of instruments the plugin uses. Create another instrument in the plugin and another mixer channel becomes available in REN.

Channels should be accessible on the main plugin track via an audio channel selector and/or available via a SHOW/HIDE Button as seen in the pictures above.

There are numerous benefits to having this feature in place and even more consequences to not having it in place, so please think this through before discounting its importance.

2. Track/Instrument Freeze/Thaw function... Another much needed feature to deal with CPU Usage Lets make it kinda like this please.

3. 64Bit Implementation, My Main DAW SONAR has had this for years, literally, with the majority of its plugins now being 64bit! It's time everyone catches up...

hy my big wishes are :
16 level on /off - one put upp and down .
groove swing templates-for each pad track and global.
timeshift in pianoroll editor-.
timewarp processing,realtime timetstretching.
load samples -programms from disk to pad and keys.
autoquantize.
make mpc studio/renaissance to an universal midi controller.
subgroup and subgroup fx -automation
thank you and this was first things

Just something that crossed my mind while watching my Tarheels getting smashed in.

I think it'll be dope that once you turn on the Ren that the program opened up by itself without having to click on the program since you can't use the Ren without the software anyways. At least have the option in preference to be able to turn it on to open once the Ren is detected since some do run as a plugin. I run standalone 99.9% of the time.

Just to add to this it can be done because the iPod, iPad, etc s linked to iTunes and when I connect my devices iTunes will open up automatically.

Why don't you just arrange the 2 sequences in song mode, then convert to a new sequence which you can then automate or mute or whatever in main mode?!

Time/workflow... And i wanna play and not programming much... But You"re right, but i allready mentioned that,im Just saying My suggestion would enhance live performance, and It would Be way more fun making songs of Your sequences and F#ck around with It real Time..but its a good suggestion tho". But i really hope audio track recording function is coming soon, and i imagine This Will Be done in song mode, so then Your suggestion wont work...since i want To automate in sync with the vocals,or maybe even edit the vocal itself in real Time..

also : remember Asio settings... Annoying to Be changing It after a crash, or else soundquality sucks... It can remember My plugin folders, so why not those settings??

A live mode would be nice in which I can take a any beat from any program I created and move them over to live mode .Whether its old or new i dont have to stop to load .And bring back the bpm master sync which was in all the MPCs expect the Ren. :WTF:

1. Program-Wide effects. At the moment it seems like this can only be sort of implemented on plug-in tracks. This is still essential.

2. Complete rebuild of the mixer (continuing where 1.3 left off) and abandoning of the current submix routing system. The auto routing to submix of pads with effects is a lazy programming move that makes absolutely no sense. The submix function currently has practically no functionality and only makes for confuzing routing.

4. ALL workflow functionality should be available through hardware controls. No excuses.

5. data wheel, cursors, number and +/- keys should be functional for ALL data fields. For the love of god....

6. Sequence editing/ "Block" editing in song Mode. We should be able to drag and drop tracks between sequences, rename them, alter their lengths, etc in sequence mode. Color coding would help.

7. Revamped editing tools for software. They are clumsy and difficult to use.

9. HW editing of ALL sequence events by Bar, Note, Track, whatever.

10. Locked in, on time integration with DAWs when used as a plug-in. Currently playback doesn't follow song position. Gimme a break... :Sigh:

11. Rewire support. see above.

12. Effect samples and freeze them in the sample editor.

13. NO F*CKING BUGS OR CRASHES.

I Still feal cheated, Akai :| Get it together ASAP
