Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I was playin some old joints for my bro and my 2k started buggin out and makin squeelin noises, I shut it off instantly when i heard it. Now when I go to turn on my mp the screen is waving black lines and fluttering, all the lights come on like normal, but it isn't reading the floppy drive or making any noise. It seems the longer i wait to turn it on, the longer the screen stays fully pixelated, but eventually will start fluttering n ish.

My mp is all original so it's mad old, but it has been working fine, and the screen was bright with no lines whatsoev. what just happened? power surge? short circuit?

yo if its buggin like that, just know mpcstuff.com has everything to get it back in good condition. I had similar problems too!

If you had similar problems, what was the problem?
I am trying to diagnose the issue so I can attempt to fix it,but I can't find anything on this issue. I would assume it is a blown fuse...

And yeah I might have to send to mpc stuff or forat to fix because I gotta get some major joints off these floppies. I am from Canada so I don't want to be spendin an arm n a leg to fix the mp

that is a problem like i never heard of before, but i wouldn't spend too much money getting it fixed up if you can get another one for cheap used. it would not hurt to have one around for parts.
