how to get good sound from akai mpc 2500 master eq and compr

Hi i dont know nothing about EQ and Compression can someone tell me best starting setings for Hip hop music....to get fat sound of drums,to get good final sound.When i record my track in my mpc on record scren as main out i get different sound that im hearing on my monitors i was try to move down my main out knob but sound is the same..pls help

most people will give you good staring points. But your basically asking "how do I master my song." Which is an extremely unique task to each producer. The eq and compressor on the 2500 aren't unique. I suggest that you research master eq and compression techniques, unless you unaware of how compressors and EQ'ing works and what it does - then of course start with that.

Compressors reduce the range of volume of a signal, there are many paramteres effecting how it does this. Quickly or slow, hard or soft etc..

EQ's are pretty straightforward, I would advise that if you use it on your master do so very very tiny amounts to reduce certain problem areas.
