Hi all, been reading these forums for so long that I was surprised to see I had never registered when i tried login in. So this is my first post.

I just purchased JJ OS2XL, been using the free JJ OS for about a year, love the mpc1000, it has become a very important piece in my live setup.

I use it to trigger sound effects, drum bits, notes and chords on stage and the drummer in my band also has his SPD-S hooked with midi to the mpc1000, so his drums come out of out 1-2-3-4, and my samples come out of L-R.

We use just one program per song in this manner : his sounds are assigned to bank D and i only play bank A and B. Amazing flexibility for such a small machine.

with OS2XL, i can create instrument programs with envelopes and portamento for synths and such, it's a lot of fun, but if i use an instrument program live for my sounds, can I have his SPD-S trigger sounds from another program simultaneously ?

I know the mpc1000 can trigger sounds from two programs at the same time using the sequencer, but I want to manually trigger sounds from two programs, is that possible in the following manner :

***SPD-S - midi channel X - triggers drums from Program A
***MPC1000 - triggers sounds from Program B

or in this manner :

***SPD-S - midi channel X - triggers drums from Program A
***Midi Keys - midi channel Y - triggers sounds from Program B

Thanks !
Francis.

Sure , assign program A to TRACK 1 , and program B to TRACK 2 and then you'll have program A available on MIDI channel 1 and program B oon MIDI channel 2

So i'd say set the SPD-S midi channel on 2 and you're good to go...
