BPM issues :-(

I'm at the end of my tether with this thing

after making fine adjustments in the BPM (in Legacy MPC1K files), sequences will suddenly start playing at half-speed - and occasionally, if you're very lucky, after making some further BPM adjustments will jump back double to the original speed

this is so common now rendering any work almost completely futile

not got great hopes for a bugfix now
would anybody experiencing anything similar know of a possible workaround before I give up on this hardware for good?

Did you buy the Ren to make beats? or did you buy it just load your old beats into the Ren and play them? I dont get it, if u cant import some stuff, whats the big deal, just make NEW beats. Either finish the beat on the 1k, remake it on the Ren, or just make a new beat, are people buying the Ren just to load old mpc files? **** them old beats and make some new ones. Just saying, every1 is whining about backwards compatibility. Do you buy a playstation 2, only to play your ps1 games? See what im saying.

I think you might be surprised how many people would like the convenience of loading legacy files into the Ren/Studio software. For many, this feature alone is the deal maker or deal breaker. This also explains why some will continue to argue that the MPC software should be available standalone (if it was, there would be a lot less Ren/Studio hardware being sold), and also why Akai will probably never allow it to happen. If you really can't see a need for backward file compatability, its probably because you don't need it.

I'm not gonna lie, that was a big selling point for me to load old beats and tweak them. Of course I'm gonna make new ones, but I like the fact that I have the option to revive my older beats and add effects/eq to them since I couldn't with the 2000xl without having to track them out. I've had the ren for 2 weeks now, but it's sitting in the box because i'm still saving for a new laptop. It's killing me! Lol

I would say just make that beat over again or rock it out on the 1K.... its backward compatible .....but obviously everything is not going to work perfectly... I more interested to see what new features they add..... then fixing backward compatibility bugs

Abandon all of your prior work because the Ren doesn't load as advertised. ....Damn! :Sigh:

Now that's an iconic workflow 4-ur-azz!
