Minimoog is still largely unbeaten for certain types of bass.
for bass I have a SH2, ATC1 and soon will have Memorymoog + few other things.
ATC-1 is a good bass workhorse.

I was listening to Action Bronson's Rare Chandeliers last week an realised that I really don't like his voice. Can't listen to that album any more and it's a great shame because the beats are banging!!!

Yes Mad Child is doing his solo thing with a couple albums and touring. Prevail IDK I heard he released some wack crunk 808 garbage, never checked into it. Rob the Viking is still producing really sick beats, if you add/like him on Facebook he posts up webcam beat previews once in a while. Oh yea Moka Only isn't in the group any more he's still cool with them though and releasing solo work.

bass like that isn't hard to get ur whole track needs to sound good for the bass to sound just right and fit in
petes basslines just sound like he sampled a nice electric bass guitar off a record lpf a lil and spread it across the pads.
if ur kick thumps just right the bass wont have to be really deep.
keep the bass clean dont muddy it up trying to make it fatter. the fatness is there u just can't hear it

listen to them shitts... theres a phat compressed kick on top of almost every bass note. if u listen to the bassline alone its not that nice sounding.
make ur kick on point and drop ur bass right on the fat kicks.
the sound of the bass isn't really that important.. aslong as its not terrible
go back listen to those beats that exactly what he does
props to alchemist tho he tricked ur ears

TreCipher, since you know so much could you give me an advice on how to get a little bit more character to my basslines? Right now I have a sample which I lowpassed and changed the arrangement of it a little bit so it's more interesting.
I like the arrangement now but sonically it lacks some punch.
Petestrumentals & Surviving Elements happen to be two of my favorite albums and the drums and basslines are super dope, but I know it's mastered and mixed by some top notch engineers so I obviously can't get the sound home.

I did some digging a couple years back to figure out how they had connections and madchild ( when he was younger ) did a bunch of MC battles in CALI and got brought into the ROCKSTEADY crew. anyways... his street cred went up when i seen that. balance was a dope cd... for me they kinda fell off after that. madchilds new shit is knocken'em out the park though, crazy dope
