damn beat me to it! the sliced audio to rex file feature is nice answer to the Ren really. Plus thw new midi rack, finally reason covers everything I need

This is dope and very smart, they finally added basically everything everyone ever asked for. Looks like they are trying to really put themselves in contention with the big guys.

I wonder if you can fullscreen the rack to fit the entirety of a monitor now.. not sure if that was possible in the more recent versions but it wasn't possible in v4..

It hasn't been, it's a resolution thing if you think about it. They'd have to have all the GUI's in alternate forms at gigantor resolutions like 1080/1440 etc.

In the last 2 versions what they've done is made the rack itself wider while leaving the modules the same size. But...you can have them 3 stacks of modules side by side. (At least on my 2560x1440 monitor). And you can still run the sequencer on a separate monitor/detached on a single.

It took me about 30 seconds to love the side by side aspect. (I got over how small the knobs are on Reason on a Hi Res monitor years ago. )

yeah and it's cool with me if they do something to fill in the sides if the rack doesn't get wider... but it's nice having a window maximized.

Looks like it's 2 devices wide on a 1080p monitor, but still like I said, superior to all the wasted desktop space on version 4 and prior.

well in my case I have a widescreen lcd monitor sideways for the left screen and the right screen in normal position. It works well because the rack can sit on the left, and the playlist on the right (which full screens fine) but the rack can't be made wider or adjusted... O.o This setup works for many daws like fl studio with a long browser and long pattern window on the left.. playlist and mixer on the right..

this isn't how mine is set up.. but it's an example of someone who has it like that

I'm looking forward to the upgrade when it's ready. Now I won't need any other DAWs or 3rd party MIDI Out solutions, and I won't need ReCycle either.

No way debauch, I ran the same exact setup. The vertical screen with reason is a god send. In 6 it was nice because when I was mastering I could have the SSL take up that whole vertical screen up and see the entire SSL channel strip.

Jesus I know there's more expensive stuff out there. But I spent like 150$ on reason 3 some time ago. Now it's like 500$ and you'd drop another 500$ on RE's. I must admit I was part of the beta for 6 and 6.5 and most of the REs out today look completely pointless.

hahahhahahhahahah!!! hahahhahahaha!! propellerhead is the "BIG GUYS" reason has been out for 13/14 years........... I've been using reason since 1.0 and have been wanting midi out since the start..lol.. I've been saying they need to add recycles functions in the rack too... im sooo happy about this update!!! its pretty much game over in my book for any other company.. and i hardly ever, like NEVER run into bugs on reason, unless im beta testing.. they really are a great company.. i dont even consider using a ren/studio. my next step is to build my own controller from the LIVID DYI line, u can buy a case with a brainV2 in it and buy ur pcb boards and all the components, like faders,knobs,arcade buttons,rubber pads and solder eveything yourself.. the stuff is made in the USA, so u aint gotta worry about all the cheap components akai uses that are made in China/Taiwan..heres a link..

When I say big guys, I mean industry standard. Reason has been around for a while but is not a commonly accepted industry standard for audio production. I have yet to walk into a proffesional studio where reason is whats running on the computer. Your preaching to the choir man, Ive been arguing against the "reason is a toy" crap for years. But Come on are you seriously saying that having the spectral EQ and integrating recycle isnt a ploy to go more toe to toe with someone like ableton? who yes does have a much larger user base... bigger market share = bigger "guy" IMHO.

That shit is mandatory these days. I been using those for 5+ years... and now that recording audio is something that reason does it is even more important.

Maybe one day you wont need to rewire reason anymore.

I would humbly argue that Reason has equal to or more users than Ableton. It's just rewired a lot into other DAWs or used as a scratchpad for ideas on laptops. Either way Reason will always be used with Logic Pro for me, in the ways described above.
