lol at doing the interview sitting in front of an Akai MPK with pads. Talk about adding insult to injury - or was that interview done at Roger and Daves facility (?). I'd love to get my grubby hands on a Prophet one day. At least Rogers stuff is affordable.

funny they were doing shots at NAMM. i guess they pay the cost to be the boss and that comes with shots (callin em and taking them to the head).

Dave Smiths company was the first to start making soft synths and the first to stop. That really says a lot.

Good interview. It's slightly ironic that Dave's new synth is mainly digital though.

true, digi oscs, but I like the idea. Obviously Smith has a long history with innovative digital synths, too (Prophet VS and Korgs). DSI synths are actually pretty cheap for what they are. Linn products I guess are pretty cheap (addrenalinn etc) but historically his stuff is way more expensive than DSI or sequential. I could sell my linn drums for a ton, but still way less than I would have paid in 1980.
