Original Note?

When creating keygroups the process is mostly automated, from assigning your samples sequentially to selecting your note range via midi. I can map 61 sounds with the correct note span in about 2 minutes, but selecting the 'Original Note' for each sample is a total ball ache.

Either I'm missing a trick here or the developers overlooked the problem.

Yeah same here... Its a bit irritating.

Also, does anyone know a scheme to map and timestretch from one note to make a decent .AKP

A few observations I've made since the original post...


If you drag and drop keygroups together through AKsys, it's not only painless but it also automatically assigns the 'Original Note' to the sample. All good.

However, if for any reason you work on the samples separately from the MPC (fine tuning or whatever), when you piece it all back together the Original Note will not be remembered and your carefully crafted piece of music will sound like the Smurfs on crack!

I also carried out a little test prior to editing the samples in the computer, and found that the MPC only looks for the sample name when loading files. I wasn't sure if the date created, file size or any other variable would make a difference. It didn't.
