ASR-10, Roland mixer, or misc turntable w/ MPCk?

I can pick only one of them for now, as a heavy sampler is it best to get a turntable that has reverse, a mixer, or an ASR-10? Thank you.

How much for the ASR? does it have the SCSI board attached?
The turntable doesn't need to go in reverse but you do need an extremely good needle and headshell combo for clarity to sample from records.
The Roland mixer... meh... is it DJ mixer? you'll need that mixer for the turntable to play records into the MPC or ASR to sample. what model # of the Roland mixer?

The ASR's price is between 100-500 depending on the Ebay bids (along with the other two items). The Roland is the VS-1800, so yeah I think it's a DJ mixer.

I need the mixer to connect the turntable/computer to the MPC? I thought only needed the zip disc reader?

that roland mixer will only work with a specific type of turntable (one that has line out - most do not).

the asr is going to be $500 minimum, likely more.

DO NOT USE ZIP DISCS.

your turntable doesn't have to go in reverse - you can always reverse the sample later.

i would get any turntable you can find, and if it does not have line out, you will need a preamp. you can find a new preamp for $25 or you can find a DJ mixer - they have 'phono preamps' in them.

a phono preamp is different than a regular preamp. you need a phono one with most turntable.

don't spend a lot of money because you have a lot to learn and you will be able to upgrade what you find you need later.

i would get a cheap turntable from a thrift store / garage sale.

get off ebay.

That's a good idea, I probably will be upgrading. Though if I can find a deal I'll get some nice shit now. So should I basically get a DJ mixer first? I don't have anything to connect the 2k to my computer yet.

the dj mixer is no good without the turntable - get a cheap turntable and a preamp OR a dj mixer.
