Say I have 2 banks - > A+B filled with samples, now I want to add a few of my own drum kits laid out on banks C->H..

Is this possible to keep things neat and just drag over the new kits to separate banks?

If so how? everytime I try this, it just overwrites everything:?

thanks

Yes, I had to figure this out myself.
k, try this. When you load the first Program Set, it maybe called Program001 or something like that.
Look on the software, under Project Information and you will see in grey, "Program" (without the "") on the lower right hand side next to "Sample".
Right click on the Program001 and rename it, to whatever ya want. You want to do this
every time you want to load another set into your project.
So, rename the first one and the second one. In your case, rename A & B.
Just rename the Programs and ya should be good.

Hope this helps...

I don't think it's possible presently, but it would be great to be able to do it. Drag and drop with shift or alt or ctrl or something like that would be great.

Sorry, I don't get this...

So you basically want different drumsets on the same program?
Just go. Do it, try it, and go crazy while playing drums on different banks. Drag them from either your OS' windows to the corresponding pad OR *NEW*NEW*NEW* use MPC Software version 1.3.1 and just drag them from the file browser to the corresponding pad.

Easy as shoite.

I think what he means is to drag .xpm programs. If you drag a program to a pad in bank B it still goes to bank A. What i'd like is to drag a program while holding ctrl/command button and it populates the program starting with the pad it been dropped on.

you will have to manually ad them to later banks. or try modifing the original prog to have the kit on bank d. then reload it. manually adding them i mean by just loading the program in ram then drag sample of program to new bank spots. of course you will need to redue program settings for the new bank.

this would make a great suggestion for the next cpl updates. being able to stack programs by it asking what bank you want to add it to after loading a prog ontop of another.

Exactly, I've been building kits since the early 90's and now that my mpc supports 8 banks, I'd love to be able to neatly and efficiently drag n drop, already well organized kits into a nice large 8 bank of my favorite kits, for live and studio work.

I agree a shift + drag would be a great option to add kits to banks.
