What brand or kind of cables are the best to go from your mixer out into your mpc?

I have been recomended the "Monster DJ Prolink 2 RCA Male to 2x 1/4" Male"

does anybody use these?

I don't understand all this balanced unbalanced crap ??

What are you using?

i cbf explaining balanced and unbalanced.

but balance has 3 metal parts on the phono plug.

unbalanced is 2 only.

basically. the balanced cable reduces noise that could come from the cable, by relaying or something.

There have been some cable investigations online and in audio magazines. A good place to look is at the Rec.Audio. Pro forum at Google Groups. Anyway, in my opinion, the Monster Cables are overpriced. Now, there is/are such a thing as high quality cables. That is defintiely true, but the Monsters just cost too much for what they are. and in this case, bigger ain't always better.

I own ProCo and Markertek cables. I got the ProCo cables on a closeout sale and the Markertek's are custom made using high quality Mogami or Canare cable and good connectors. I usually use Markertek cables for mic cables. there are many, many choices of high quality cables better and cheaper than Monster. Do some searching. Anyway, that's my two cents.

Peace.

man i won an auction for a lot of 1/4" plugs. all different lengths and they looked like they were homemade. they work but thats probably where i get my hum from. i would suggest using high quality cables!

i've also bought a few from radio shack so i guess thats what i been usin too lol

If you can afford it use mogami cables they are by far the best and you will hear a change in your sound. If your going to drop thoushands of doallars on gear and monitors buy the cables so the stuff sounds right. with Mogami you will experience less noise in your signal. also pick up the monster power strips it's like 150 at Guitar Center if you get radio signals or hum through your speakers the cobination of this power strip and mogami cales will get rid of the sound plus Mobnster cables and Mogami Cables are guarnteed for life I had one go out on me and I brought it back to GC with no reciept and they just handed me a new cable no questions asked for me thats worth it's weight in gold.

PS stay away from furman it will not help your sound at all your better off saving 40-80 dollars and just buying a reg. power strip at staples
