Problem: Assigning a parameter to a Q-Link knob in the MPC software (doesn't work properly anymore).

Problem description:

I can't assign a parameter to a Q-Link on the software after clicking on a Q-Link. For some reason, the parameters always apply to Q1. If I want to assign a parameter to, let's say, Q4, I have to turn the actual Q-Link (that will select it), and then I can assign its parameter.

(Also: "Click on the TRIG (MPC hardware = Touch To) field to open a pop-up menu for selecting Min or Max. When you hold down the Q-Link Trigger button on your MPC hardware and touch the top of one the Q-Link knobs, the corresponding parameters will jump to either its minimum (Min) or maximum (Max) value."

= Doesn't work.)

Needless to say, this slows down the workflow A LOT.

Immediate CRASH of MPC Software when setting endpoint to 99999999 and pressing enter

Is reproducible.

1. Load a sample

2. Sample Edit

3. Move end point with mouse to somewhere in middle of sample

4. On hardware, navigate to the end point field and enter '99999999' and press <Enter>

5. Software will crash to desktop


Used to use this '999...' technique to jump the end marker to the end of long samples (i.e. 2 minute sample) as using data knob (now q-links) would take forever. Can use the mouse now, but doing the above will crash the software.

When I select this options on my drums or any sound every pad triggers the same with no change to the decay per pad.

In programme edit - Amp Envelope - select the pad and turn the 'sustain level' down to zero and you have 16 level decay.

Just to add my voice to the undo bug. Its quite random at my end. Often works fine and then it doesnt.

Immediate CRASH to desktop when adjusting Number of Regions in Chop mode min to max to min

Is reproducible


1. Load a sample

2. Sample Edit, Chop

3. Chop to region

4. Qlink to set region to 128

5. Use Qlink to turn region number all the way down…

MPC software will crash to desktop

I got the MPC-Ren for about 4 Weeks now and i couldn't realy start how i want to every Time i started doing a Beat on the Ren i want to make own Effect Presets because by now I have to make every Plug In oder Effects Step by step and sequence after sequence If I am loading an old 2000XL Beat (.APS & .ALL) i have to made it up for every Track in every sequence seperate? Thats a lot of wasting Time and It kills my Workflow so bad.

And after I installed the Update 1.3.1 I still got many Problems.
1. The most of my 2000XL .All & .APS Files would load not correct The BPM are always Missmatching.
2 saving my own Presets for the Plug-Ins and Effectx is not possible till now.
3. Sometimes I load an old MPC2000XL Beat the Bassline does not got the right Adjustments like i made on the 2000XL that means everytime i load an old Basssample it dont got the Start and End Points and the Pitch/Tune of the Bass Sample like i adjust it in the old 2000XL.
4. A Master Volume for Export would be very beneficial for now everthing i want to export are much too loud and always clipping. I Have to turn the tack master volume for every Track undert 25 and that means that when I#m in the Software evrythings sound quiet nice but how its sound hen its come out i only recognise when i export a beat and always there's a very hard clipped audio File.

maybe i'm the only one who hasn't figured it out yet, but how do you put effects on your plugin-tracks?
it used to work on 1.2 by just going to the effects section and putting any effect on any track you wanted, but now the ren wants me to go the mixer section and when i go to the inserts, i can't put any effects on the tracks with plugins. i found out i can put effects on the plugins themselves but even this is now only possible on the software and i can't seem to access that option on the hardware.
i really don't know if, maybe i just missed something here. anybody who can help me?

i would really apreciate it if somebody could help me out here.

oh yeah, and the "bank" plugin doesn't work anymore. i installed it hundreds of times but it's always empty i.e. it doesn't find the .svx instrument files. but maybe thats just my computer being a ****, i don't know. anybody else have that problem?

1.3/1.3.1 is ok. But still many problems. Plug-In use for me has been very glitchy. Notes sticking still in Massive and a few other vsts, GUI of my plugins/vsts disappearing, volumes of of my vst plugin instruments jump to max volume sometimes whenever i press play start, or rec + play start. Unstable vsts hosting still. Mixer is a little wacked out, or at least how its laid out after they changed it.The way prog edit and track mixer works now is wierd and there's a lot of glitches. My banks switch on me and stuff like that. Also, I've had a ton of crashes recently, even on small projects. The crashes seem to be related to the following; glitches while saving projects, prolonged sample editing, renaming/naming of samples, loading old projects, especially ones that contain vests. A lot of wierd little things make the software crash,

it seems that if after I use the Ren for more than an hour the software begins to act wacky, undo starts not working right.

Just try to fix the crashing, 1.3 I have experienced the most crashes yet, and we need a few of these bugs squashed

Problem: when I change Pad Banks with my footswitch while playing live, sometimes:

1- Notes I'm playing "double-up" when I press my footswitch;
2- The Pad Bank switches to the one I want, and then immediately goes back to the previous one.

I got 1.31 the day it can out it instantly started crashing and causing my ren to not be found by the software
I went back to 1.3 and all that stopped and been running perfectly since
IMO you need to go back and just wait for the next fix.
I personally don't have the problem with the tempo being wrong so I'm not stress what the up date fixed

The GUI's of my IK Multimedia PlugIns (sampletank, etc) come up blank sometimes and the gui just acts very glitchy sometimes.

My Novation BassStation PlugIn seems to crash my software often.

OK. I'm FREAKING OUT here.

01_ I just CAN'T put specific parameters to ANY effect. EQ, HP, NAME IT. With the Data Dial, with the Q-Links, even with the Numeric Keypad. I put "0", and it goes to "-1.3". I put "200", and it goes to "354".

On top of that, on the hardware screen I have numbers, and on the software screen, I have other numbers. WTF?


02_ I just don't understand the Track Mixer... WHY are the Sequences independent of the Track Mixer? WHY? (The numbers I assign to the Track Mixer aren't applied to all of my Sequences...)

Let's say I set specific levels on the Track Mixer while I'm on Sequence 01. And afterwards, on Sequence 02, I decide to change the levels on the Track Mixer. Well... The changes I made on the Track Mixer while I was on Sequence 02 don't apply on Sequence 01.

WTF!?!??

It's the SAME beat! The SAME project! So each Sequence has its own track assignments? How on earth is that good?

I can't work like that! I haven't done a new beat since November! All I do is struggle here!

If only there was some kind of workaround... For example, making a Master Volume per Program or something... (As a matter of fact, on the MPC 1000's mixer, if you hit Shift and a Pad Bank button, the Data Dial controls all the pads of the chosen Pad Bank at the same time... Levels and panning.) But this doesn't seem to work on the Renaissance.


03_ Why isn't there a Bypass button in the Effects panels? Why?


04_ Why doesn't the software ask us if we want to copy a sample when we edit it (like in the legacy MPCs)? Why does it apply the edits to the original sample? What if I want both the original and the edited one... I have to manually copy my sample BEFORE editing? How on earth does that integrate well in the workflow?

Man... I've had it.

Please fix undo, it is extremely glitchy and inconsistent...anytime u hit undo it will undo a sequenced track that was not intending to undo.
