If you already like the tone/pitch of the sample then simply tune your hardware synths or VSTi synths. Here's what I do if tuning the sample doesn't work well for me:
1) find out what key the sampled song was in
2) try to find a part of the sample where there's a sustained sound
3) find the closest note on the keyboard that is closest to the sustained sample
4) playback the sustained sample and at the same time playback your note on the keyboard
5) now start adjusting the tune amount (on your master tune) on your synth in 10 cent increments until it sounds pretty close
6) then fine tune it to the exact position
7) now everything should be a match for whatever samples you playback from those samples.
note: coincidentally you could use this procedure to identify how much the sample needs to be adjusted if you choose to adjust the samples tuning instead of your synth's tuning.
Let me know if this works out for you.
