Anyone using the Ren with an external sound module?

I picked up the Integra 7 recently, and would like to see what others tracking out experience has been. Seeing how the Ren does not have Midi slave capabilities.

My theory is to play a 1 bar metronome before every track and tab to transient to set things in there place. Any other methods?

Thanks in advance.

What are you trying to do exactly? Tracking the Ren and Integra 7 inside a DAW? There are multiple DAWs that have MIDI slave capabilities.

I use Pro Tools HD 10. It only slave to MTC, which I haven't tried in a while. Jah you use PT, have you got it to space consistently?

Can't you just use the REN in plugin mode (which should be sample accurate) and just send midi out to your sound module that way?

The Ren does not transmit midi through its midi outs the same way while in plug in mode, in plugin mode it only transmits to the DAW.

Also, I prefer standalone mode to opening the plugin.

It does in Reaper. Which Daw are you using? Yeah I prefer to use the REN in standalone mode also but there are ways to set things up so that it will basically feel just like you're using it in standalone mode.

But then your DAW can transmit MIDI to your sound module.

MPC Ren plugin -->MPC MIDI Track -->Pro Tools MIDI Track-->Sound Module

Just like Jah said u can set up so your daw transmits the midi.

I use ren in cubase thisway as a plugin. U can seqvence ur hardware on the ren or in your daw. and then just record the tracks coming from the outputs of your midi hardware like u would with the rens outs in your daw.
