Look like a rehabilitation hospital?

Every topic deals with a busted button, a broken pad, sound issues, etc.... What the heck do yall with your 2500's? I have never had an signal issue with my 2500 since its day of release in 2005. Same thing with my 2000 and I have had that thing since 1997.

I think the 2500 forum is the most depression section on the site.... Makes you want to get a beat thang.....

Beat Thang? I feel your point but that's some hyperbole.

For real though I think it's a combination of over 75% of people copping used 2500's and you just have no idea how much wear the tacts and PCB's took. And I've always known a few folks that just bang on gear with "cinder block" hands. Factor in many traveling and playing out with their machines and it's a lot of broken parts. (All those eBay listings that are like "MPC is perfect except case has 5 inch crack from a door frame collision..."

But yeah same here, my machines don't leave the house, I don't bash too hard on them and it's been fine so far. 5 used machines, no issues.

Build quality anyone?

Ever heard someone say "the MPC2500 is built like a tank", or "built for the road"?

I think not.

too bad 2500 didnt inherit xl's build quality.

someone on mvnation mentioned that 5k uses better internal parts than the 2500 as far as capacitors go

Bruh I use my 2500 and 2000 every other day for like an hour or two. I usually alternate between the 2500 and 2000. I still got the same pads on my 2000. Because I've never changed the pads they are smoother then a baby's ass. Never had screen issues, etc... Then again when I'm done I don't leave my equipment on all night like some people do.

I treat my MPC's like vagina. Treat it tenderly but at times it deserves a good smash session, but nothing like prison rape where you got dudes finger raping the day lights out of the pads. I will admit that the 2500 is no where near built like the 2000. The 2000 is built like a 1977 Cadillac.

That's a lovely image you just planted in my mind!

The 2500 has reasonable build quality but it's got a few weak areas. The tacts are awful, which everyone knows about anyway. The jog is the worst of any MPC. Just dire. The 'paint job' is about 0.05 microns thin. It's like they coloured it in with a permanent marker pen that was on its last legs anyway.

Also, cosmetically the side panels are shite. :fku:

they should have done a baked enamel finish and it would have been great.. probably pricey though compared to a simple spray down.
