Hey Gang,
Obi and I collaborated on this one.
Here's my sample:

Here's his:

I picked up Skyfall on DVD, went through and sampled several parts. Mainly orchestral stuff. There's some background noises - waves, footsteps, etc. And maybe a little dialogue too. Don't worry, there's no Adele. It's over 10 min, so there's plenty of material to work with. In fact, if you want to sample anything else from the film on your own...fair game. Great movie, by the way.
Obi's sample is unknown and unique.
As far as the guidelines:
1. Dont have to use an MPC
2. Chop sample(s) however you want
3. No time limit
4. Throw a change-up in - tempo, doubletime, etc.
5. Outside Drums, percussion, bass all ok
6. Outside Scratches, skits, short vocals, etc ok
7. If you want to use outside synths/leads go ahead, but we can all agree that it kind of defeats the purpose if the sample takes a back seat. So make the samples the focus. You should be able to make a ridiculous beat without having to add a bunch of synths and leads and the like. But, it's not like you're gonna get disqualified either. These are guidelines, not rules. Really there are no rules...it's not like we've got a bunch of cash riding on this (other than the side-bet Obi and I made, LOL!)
8. Have fun
9. Did I forget anything? I'm sure Obi will chime in and let us know if he has anything to add.
Deadline is April 3rd
Winner announced April 6th....right? Dantuf?
