Are they sticking only when using the REN? Does it work fine when using Massive in standalone mode? Do you have midi cables connected to your Korg microstation as well as USB?

I am using Massive as a VST. Works perfectly fine on my system.

@InspectahEX, sorry bro. You may have to write it a 'millionth and one' time if you want forum members to trouble shoot your problem for you or contact Akai customer support. There is obviously something related to your specifc set-up that is causing the issue you are having.

Trying using the suggestions written above. But I don't mind writing the suggestions a 'millionth' time. :P In Preferences, select the Korg Controller as the MIDI Input device but disconnect it as the output device and see if this solves your problem. Also, try using the VST version of Massive.

That narrows things down a bit. I will be home in a few hours to check it out and send a detailed report to Akai if I can reproduce it.

Best.

Trick.

Ever.

Have you tried pushing the STOP button twice or thrice instead of just once? This sort of triggers panic mode and cuts off all note tails. Give it a try. It is so good it should be illegal. ;)

I tried using Native Instrument's Massive AU and notes got stop almost immediately; no issues with the VST version.

I tried AU versions of Motu Mach Five 3 and Arturia Mini V but didn't get stuck notes.

What specific plugins are you guys having issues with?

I get stuck notes too when using my Motif XF as a sound module with Ren. The only way I can fix it is to change the voice/patch on the motif then put it back to the original voice that was stuck.

Doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen way to often IMO. Definitely a major inconvenience.

VST or AU?

InspectahEX wrote:So it has something do with Massive being loaded as an Audio Unit. Got to be.

It appears to be so. Have you tried using the VST version of Massive?

I am unfamilar with the Motif XF. If you have it connected to the Ren via MIDI cables, try only connecting the MIDI Out of the Ren to the MIDI In of the Motif XF. Do not connect anything to the MIDI In of the Ren. Then trigger your Motif XF via the Ren's pads. Do you have problems with stuck notes using this method?

You guys might want to try loading a MIDI monitor app and try to isolate what the hell is going on. If it's a note off message not being sent or a note on message hanging, one of these apps should allow you to "catch" the culprit. You could also compare VST and AU versions to see what differences the monitor shows, as the AU's seem to have this issue more.

For me, I can only get Massive AU to stick. I don't have this issue with Motu Mach Five AU version.

Can you (and everyone) list the AU plugin you are having issues with? Include manufacturer, plugin name, version, computer OS, etc. Then I will forward all this info to Akai.
