I checked the first four pages here and couldn't see a topic on this so I guess it hasn't been a hot topic.

Are you getting this? It's like every third time I save it, it crashes.
It's happening way too often now.
Major workflow killer and makes me feel I don't want to work with the Ren at all with how it is right now...it doesn't feel worth doing anything as you never know if you can keep it or not.

I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.8.
Is this happening to you, too? And I'm sorry if there's a topic for this already; if that's the case, feel free to merge my post with the relevant topic.

Have you tried a clean reinstall?

It did for me in version 1.2. Unfortunately I can't provide you with another quick tip, but maybe someone else can?

Can you give some more details to help track this down?

What are your system specs?

Is this a problem with particular programs/plugins/etc?

Does this happen if you just save a blank project three times?

If your MPC crashes, is saved project loadable next time?

Been having the same problem thats why some have brought up the autosave .You can uninstall and install the software its only fix that for a time being. Then the problem returns.Been talking to Akai tech about they are clueless about the issue.

I removed the software and installed 1.0 from the CD as I wanted to work on this song for a moment without having it crash on me.

Then, as Pete asked those Qs I thought I'd download and install the latest version to have it crash and inspect the behavior a bit.
I've now been working on it for an hour, constantly saving, and it hasn't crashed once.
Hmmm. I wonder if that solved the problem?

I'll keep you updated if it starts crashing again!

For now I can say the crash-on-save didn't render the project useless; I could always re-load it.

Well, I finally made it crash.
I can't recall anything special prior to saving that I hadn't done all the time before while working on the song and saving it constantly to see if it crashes.

How can I send you a crash report?

Specs:
Mac OS X 10.6.8
Macbook Pro 17", late 2011

Another crash, while I was on sample edit screen and hit save.
Can't reproduce it intentionally (i.e., trying to hit CMD-S repeatedly)...it only crashes after some changes but I can't say what changes cause it.
Maybe it's random.

Actually, I can kind of reproduce the issue but it's still random.

E.g., I load up a song, and immediately after loading I hit play and start hitting CMD-S.
Sometimes I can save it 20 times and it won't crash.
Then, I stop and start the song, start doing it again.
Often, it crashes on the second or third save.
If not, I stop and start, start saving, and there we go.

As soon as you asked, I started the software, loaded up the song, didn't start it, hit CMD-S, and got a crash.
So it doesn't have to be playing.

Talking about crashing, is there any auto-save feature? Or do you loose all your work if the software crashes and you forgot to save manually? Cause when you´re in deep creativity mode, saving isn´t always on your mind.
