1.31 crash when saving

There is no auto-save, which makes the situation way worse.
That'd make it all so much better and a little more bearable TBH.

where are you guys saving your projects? Is it on your computer or an external hard drive?

i have not made any new tracks because of this new extreme bug (saving crash). I save my beats every 5mins and Now it would crash during the save process

Quickstrike I feel your pain .Ive been complaining about this issue since the 1.3 update .

i have a similar issue, seems to happen when I use specific plugins like BassStation. I think it's something with the way the new mixer works with plugins. I have no idea though. Also when I get a crash like that I have to search my folders for the file as it doesnt show up in recent files. But when I find it and open it, it will load up fine, but then after some more use it will keep crashing like every 15 min. Sometimes it even crashes right when saving. Also the mixer gets glitchy on me. If I go to track mixer, or program mixer the Ren always switches pad banks on me. I recall it crashes usually after I use a plugin like BassStation, and then I go to track mixer and lower the track BassStation is on, it will usually crash within 5 minutes after doing stuff like this. Not sure where the bug is here.

Reinstalling is just a waste of time, this is obviously a bug
Everthing I save to my mac harddrive, no external hd
It also happens whether or not I save when sequence is playing
Usually happens when I insert a plugin track with BassStation and maybe a few other plugins, mostly when I use BassStation.

I have had this happen to once while saving I lost an entire beat. When I went to use the save as and created a new file for the entire project and created the folder and the then once I hit save Ren started saving the sound files. Then the Ren stopped saving the files and the software turned itself completely off. I restarted the Ren and none of the saved items were created. So I lately just save my PGMs of chopped sampled to the beat folder 1st then I go about saving a creating sequences there after. When I go this route I haven't had any crashes. From there the Ren seem to be ok with finding the new unsaved samples and saves the Project just fine.

Yeah, I can confirm that saving sequences as well as programs – not the project – does the trick and doesn't make it crash.
Kind of slow but works. You just gotta remember to save everything.

I'm wondering if there's been any progress on this or if I should still have my Ren collect dust?

This may sound like a stupid question, but have you tried to contact Akai directly?

Well, I can't see what that would accomplish.
Seeing that we can talk directly to the devs such as Pete, I'm not sure talking to Akai would be much more helpful: I suppose they'd report my prob to the devs so my guess is Akai'd only be a middleman there.
What they should do, at least, is pay their devs properly so they could give the software all they've got (I'm not sure if that is the situation: I hope it is).

I've called them many times about this .Another issue I've been noticing is sequences are being deleted .Yes I been saving them correctly cause there are days when I can go back and listen to them .Then one day they just disappear .Which is crazy there are issues with the software and it needs to be fixed ASAP.It has become mood killer for me their Tech isn't any help cause they act like there is nothing wrong cause they are not experiencing the issue .I know its not my computer I called Mac and did a computer sure and took it to a Mac tech and they all said the same thing its the software. So please Dan and Pete look into these issues .

At least J. Sandeeh is looking into it, I guess.
I sent a crashing project to him but he didn't find anything yet.
And my Ren still keeps crashing when I save. I still haven't really got to make much music with it because of the bugs.

Give up or not? At least I have other samplers to make music with.

I have the same problem as well. No luck with Akai tech support. I notice that my older projects before 1.3.1 crash when I attempt to save. I started a new project and so far no crashes when I save.

I wonder if it has to do with the older version songs only.
I've only started two songs with the Ren as I've been waiting for it to become stable but been out of luck, heh. Might try starting a new one with 1.31 then and see how that goes.
