samples needed please! for $

I'm just playing around.Trust me guys i really want to drop some cash on records but there are really not that good of record shops here in Toronto.I would love to go to a dope record shop and drop $5000 on records if i could get a loan for that much money.How much records would i get for that much?

99% of my records, I was either given, or bought from thrift stores......my records range from Kool and the Gang to the Carpenters to The Cars to Linda Rondstat to Bobby Brown to Flor Silvestre to Ray Anthony.....It's not what you sample, its what you do with the sampler.......

toronto is not that small of a city i am sure there is somethin up there.
there are samples everywhere, it just takes time and patience.
i honestly don't know how many "skillz" u really have if you can't even find some samples. it has nothing to do with money.

Where in the city do you live? If it's in the core, check out Kops Records on Queen West, this really nice place called Discovery Records at 1140 Queen East and check out Funky Boodah in the town of Markham. All these places have mad records. You'll especially like Discovery they have crazy variety. You can browse their list at discoveryrecords.com.

There's a Goodwill at Jarvis and Adelaide that has sick records, I don't even know where that stuff is coming from, but it's good shyte. Lots of 25 cent specials.

Take a Saturday and hit up Queen West, you'll find lots of good shyte there. Do not go to Play De Record though. The prices they call for records, you would think they're made of platinum or something. Besides their selection blows for old records. It's out there, you gotta shop though.

There used to be a lot more selection black in the day but many shops have closed down due to lack of demand. There still are strong shops in town though, these I mentioned are still rocking good selections. There's another one on Queen West called Second Vinyl on McCaul St. I think. A nice chinese couple owns it and they're into their soundtracks, jazz and soul. You'll get great stuff from them too. And none of these places require to break banks to buy their records.

Don't be taking no loans for records. If you shop at the rite places you'll get good cheap records. No sense becoming a slave to the banks for records. You take what money you can get and buy a few records and practice sampling. I used to take piano lessons as a kid, I had to practice daily. The same applies now. I'm not a sampler at the level of Kanye or Alchemist yet, but as long as I keep practising, I'll get there in time. Get like 10 records to start practising. Check out those places I told you about, you won't be disappointed.
