looking for mother board

So long story short...my mother board is causing me some trouble on my mpc 2500...I look on mpc stuff and I have some questions...Does the pcb cpu is the same thing as the mother board?Anyway I email them and they say that mother board for mpc 2500 is back order...but on their site the pcb cpu is in stock..weird.Do you guy know any other site or people that sell mpc 2500 mother board?Thanks alot.

I think the main motherboard houses cpu, it's soldered on so it'd make sense it's one piece but dont quote me on it, you can try these guys.

In computer terms, the motherboard is the main PCB where the CPU is located.

The Akai service manual refers to it as PC CPU BLK, and it is the main PCB where the CPU is located.

So yes, they are the same thing.


No idea if MPC2500 parts are still available from Akai, maybe they could be ordered through Akai, via an Akai reseller or repair centre?

Another option would be to look for another cheap 2500 to use as a donor machine to swap and replace parts from. You may find a cheap one on craigslist, ebay, local newspaper etc.
