Well the LCD did need replacing too..but this is the first biggie.


looking at the 16 pads the four on the far left have all pretty much stopped working...occasionally you might get them to trigger but not really.maybe one press in 20 does something. This has happened all of a sudden - it's pretty strange.
anyone else had this happen? what's the fix? all pointers and advice much appreciated!

sounds like the ribbon connecting your pad sensors to the board has worn away/cracked across the traces. time to replace your pad sensor array! (mpcstuff if you're in the states.) at the very least, open up your machine and see what's going on.

It 'aint broke. Probably just normal wear and tear, pad sensors isn't really a repair, more a case of servicing a beat up/ worn part. Inspect, clean (?), reseat (?), or replace (?) and you'll be good for a few more years of heavy pounding.
