Some real nice setups here!, very nice. this is what I use.

I got a room full gear, but most days that's all you need SmashedCrab.

Thought about how I wanted to sound treat my office for a couple weekends. I use this space for contracting work and for music but I found the room was so small that I was hearing drastically different things depending where I was in the room.

Came up with a rough plan one sunday morning, by 5 PM me and my roommates had bought all the supplies. The 3 of them + 3 or 4 of our other friends started working and by like 4 AM the whole thing was installed. I had to work the next morning so I had to sleep. 2 of my roommates didn't want to stop until they were done. Woke up to a pretty amazing surprise lol

There are a couple panels on the ceiling and two large ones on the opposite wall to the monitors.

Really simple setup. Monitors, MPC, midi keyboard, computer.

There's a noticeable difference. Before, if I shifted forward or back a foot or two from my computer the bass would just cut in and out.

It adds a bit of sound proofing too. It's the quietest room in the house. But I essentially built it the way I did to solve issues with the sound getting muddied after bouncing around so much in a small space.

This afternoon's configuration. The MPC is starting to resemble the Juno 6.

Every synth is slaved to the akai brain (JJ OS 2xl mind)
The computer is no longer used for music, that's the beauty of standalone MPCs.

Working on a little live rig totally different from the main setup...
The Akai is not a 3000XL but a S-2800, I prefer it for live as the FX are way better and it only cost me about £20.
The reason I won't be using my MPC-2000XL is because that MMT-8 was a present and didn't cost me anything. The MPC is very precious to me and is my main composition tool, if it got damaged or stolen I would be very ronrey and upset.
I did have to transfer every sequence in the MMT-8 though bit by bit from the MPC lol



Mixer is a Soundcraft Spirit SX which was my first mixer years and years ago, lent it to a friend got more used now back with me gathering dust lol I took the colored fader caps and put them on my Mackie though which I should point out sucks big balls but has 32chanels for the price of a cheap hooker in a s*it*y part of town so hey ho I don't care hahah

Just curious - what don't you like about the mackie mixer? I've had the 24 ch version for a few years and it's served me well

Easy.. It's terrible build quality (ribbon cables aghh), crappy but likeable eq but most of all the sound!
It leaks and bleeds more than a sieve. It's a huge step backward from anything I've used before but it's got lots of channels and I need that.

And now the hypocritical bullshi*t Now I'm quite liking how s*i* it is hahah People look at me weird but meh it kinda mulges the sound into one like a sponge soaking up water than slowly seeping it out lol

Yeah I hear you on the part about the sound leak/bleeding a lot. Couldn't imagine using one of these live effectively
