From reading the MPC2500 manual, there doesn't seem to be a way.
Someone else with more Akai 2500 OS experience might know.
The free JJ OS128 that was supplied with my XLCD large screen allows you to choose what sound to use for the accented and unaccented metronome clicks, as well as a volume for each.

same with JJOS1... not sure if the akai OS has the option either.
