Could you shed some light on this matter? What kind of strange things? I'm using the same drive and would like to know more about this subject.
I was seeing weird things where after a hotswap, it wasn't showing the files properly on the newly inserted card.
As I said, I only did some brief testing, I didn't really look into it too much, as the SATA bridge and SATA reader seems a better way to go for me, so not sure what was actually causing it, and how repeatable it was.
It might not really be a problem, might have been an issue with the IDE cable I was using (80 wire/40 pin IDE cables might be causing problems, for me), or something.
But if it is working fine for you, and others, it is probably all good
