MPC 60II memory card issues

Ok,

Im new here and have looked around for a bit but I am in need of some help. I just bought a MPC 60ii with the memory upgrade but the memory expansion will just not show up so I will have to open up the mpc and reset the expansion then it will show the full memory. But after awhile of making beats it will go away agin. Any fixes for this?

mmm maybe you should try to clean all the pinns and make sure everything else, all the connectors are connected well ?

Done that. I have actually removed the memory card now multiple times. Cleaned all contacts. bent the connecting pins out a tiny bit to get better contact. It seems to work perfect until I tighten down the screw that holds the board in place. so I added a spacer on the under side of the board connector andthe screw hole. Seems to have fixed the issue. We shall see........ I am really curious if anyone else has had this issue.......

mmm if it stays good that way..leave it like that.. sometimes the connector cable from under the pads hits the expansion.

I will look into that. Would that cause it to short maybe?

i heard this one before when i had problems wit my expansion..so you might take a look if it's hanging all over the chips.

Update:

After I installed the 3.10 OS from Roger Linn I have had no more memory problems. I did double check the connection but did nothing else. Whatever.... All I know is it now works flawlessly.

The 3.10 OS is a must for the MPC60. Features aside, it removes minor bugs that were in the earlier software versions. That's the part people don't rave on about.
