I purchased JJ OS2XL recently, OH MY, this thing is a beast, unbelievable how many features are packed in this little machine.

I noticed a bug with what I'm trying to achieve though, would like to know if there is a known workaround ?

When I use portamento on an instrument program, and i play/repeat the same note, whether on a midi controller or on the pads, it will only sound the first one, for instance, if I play C-C-F-D-A-A-G-C-F, I will hear the following : C-_-F-D-A-_-G-C-F.
BUUUT, if I record this to a track, while i would only hear the first instance of a note repetition while performing, the track will playback ALL notes (including the ones that didn't sound initially)... sounds like a bug ? Can anybody check if their mpc is the same ?

I'm not saying that there's a problem with the portamento, it slides well and all, all I'm saying is that when I play the same note repeatedly, only the first one comes out of the machine, the other ones are silent, but if I play A-C-A-C-A-C for instance, they will all sound, regardless of the portamento setting, although this happens only when portamento is on.

In other words, the problem is only when I play the same note more than one time in a row.

Ex :

A-A-C-D-F-A-A-A-C will become A-_-C-D-F-A-_-_-C ... ( _=silence) and
A-B-C-D-A-B-F will remain the same since no one note is played more than once in a row.

This is a bug. I posted it way back but no one understood what i meant. The first note plays, but after that all the notes glides into each other, even when they are not overlapping.

not sure what you mean by "all notes glides into each other" but if by that you mean that the repetition of the same note doesn't playback properly, then yes, it is a major flaw, at least for me, I wanted to use the mpc for a gliding synth, but the riff has a few notes repeating themselves, which renders this impossible.

Yeah, I can confirm this too. I tried to create a classic acid line with the 1000 but there is a bug with the portamento. As soon as you overlap one note the portamento remains latched on regardless if the next notes overlap or not.

I had to program pitch bend using q-link to fake the slides. You can see my acid line attempt here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rsl_F7vslow

Any news on this? I created an instrument program and set portamento... and yeah, only the first note plays. Since some people weren't quite clear what this means...

If you play A then B, it correctly bends from A to B.
If you play A, let go of the pad, and press A again, then the second pad press doesn't make a sound. You *must* play a different key from the originally played key. aka no playing the same note in quarter notes or whatever if the instrument mode is portamento.
