Pre amp/ mic combo question

I might have plans to get the avalon sp 737 for my studio and i was wondering since this pre amp is a tube pre amp(thats what is writen) i was wondering should i still look at getting a tube mic or would it be better to get a non tube mic!

I don't have a tube mic or pre-amp, but I was told by some people at the guitar center that as long as you have a good mic then a tube pre-amp will give you the same results, I really don't know personally but it makes sense especially since a tube mic colors your sound and makes it warmer, I guess the tube pre-amp will do the same.

this is just my experience. I used the summit tube pre amp with two
mics, one was the NTK (tube) other was audio technica 4050.
When I compared the two I thought, the 4050 sounded a lot cleaner,
the vocals were crisp. The NTK sounded duller and less clear It might have been the mc' voice but in my case the condenser mic sounded better.

Good choice on the Avalon. I have been doing research, and I narrowed down the 737 or a Neve1073. I think I am going with the Neve instead, but I plan on getting the 737 after I get a nicer mic. I'm thinking either NTK (budget) or all out on a Neumann U87.

My friend has ran a the U87 on the 737 and it was crystal clear. Depends on what kind of sound you want, clarity or warmth.
