I get a message saying "Hard Disk Format Failure...please check that the hard disk is turned on and properly connected"

This happens when i try connecting a iomega zip 100....how do I fix this problem? Is there anyone that has had this problem also? Help is much appreciated, Thanks

What type of Iomega ZIP100 ? A PLUS model ? or a classic SCSI one.

well when i tried doing the search it seems like i get results from all the forums instead of just this one....even though I checked only this forum. So that is why i asked. because there was around a thousand results....not sure about the model but i think it is a classic. How can you tell between the two? Thanks.

Look at the back of the ZIP drive where it's DB25 connectors are.

Do you see a termination switch ? ( make certain this is on if your ZIP is the only SCSI drive connected to your MPC3000 ).

Do you see a SCSI ID selector ?

Does your ZIP device have 2 x DB25 connectors ?

If yes to all of the above then you have a classic SCSI model.

IE: The best one for use with an MPC3000.

Beyond that, check the base of the unit for it's model/serial/revision.

Are you able to test the ZIP drive with another device ? Another sampler ? A computer, MAC or PC ?

Have tried your MPC3000 with another SCSI device ?
