To start calling names is not mature. The Ren is a hybrid product. There are features only accessible via a mouse. It is likely to remain that way for some time. In fact, there are no controllers that have 100% control of the software....thus the name hybrid. Hardware MPCs are basic. You can't use a mouse with nearly all of them. 'Expecting' them to perform identically may drive you crazy....especially being frustrated not having a function that most MPCs don't. You have to live with this functionality for the moment....

First of all I'm not calling you names, I'm calling you out for how you're acting.

- and you're completely misunderstanding where I'm coming from.

I got the Ren because I wanted classic mpc workflow with the added bonus of computer power. Did I get this?? YES. What's goin in here is me simply pointing out something that was missed. You say other mpcs didn't have it - but you could still edit a pgm all from the controller .. And the edit zones toggle was made possible (very simply) in the JJOS. So you're telling me that since the mpc ren is so powerful and can do soooo much ... We should sacrifice something so simple . I realize that everything can't be done from controller - but we should be able to do the creative process without the computer ( as advertised )

So yea maybe it wasn't in legacy mpcs - but it is now , so we should be able to toggle it easily during the creative process

It's just one of those things that's DUMB to ignore... WHat is the benefit of leaving it the way it is?

It's not even that big of a deal... You act like I do nothing but complain but as far as I (or anyone) can tell I've made more shit in the last TWO WEEKS on the ren than you EVER have ...

So all I'm trying to do is give some constructive crit about a machine I like and use very often.

Aight peace Jah - no disrespect, just had to get that out

Here goes " ren does more than any hardware mpc"

Basic MPC functionality when most MPCs don't have this specific function? :hmmm:

And it does more than any hardware MPC. That is why you are glued to this forum more than any other.

did I call or did I call it...

Jah just a reminder you're the one glued here ----------> http://community.akaipro.com/akai_professional

end of the story

Because I have a different opinion and outlook on the subject? :?

Obviously by not adding this function to the hardware (as well as several others), Akai has made other things a higher priority. Personally, there are functions that are not possible in the software or on the hardware that are arguably more important IMO....than spending time on functions that at at least possible.

These include:
1. Slave to MIDI clock
2. AD envelopes
3. 64 bit
4. Multicore support
5. Audio tracks
6. Real time time stretch/pitch shift
7. Sample Record Quick Fx
8. Mono export/routing
9. Headroom in mixer
10. Fx automation
