Okay, so I have this song that ends with a huge sound that loops over and over. Once the song is over, I keep that sound going while I go to the next sequence and start the next beat.

But since the pad I played on that last sequence (different program) was set loop and hold, I can find a way to stop it while the new sequence is playing.

If I press stop, the pad will stop sounding, but the new sequence will aswell. And I can't pad mute it because I'm already in a new sequence with different programs.

Only thing that I found works is if the sample is not set to loop and hold so it'll stop automatically, but then it's either too short or taking way too much memory.

Also, I would like to do this in 2 or 3 songs, so I'm looking for a solution to mute all pads without stopping the next sequence, any way to program it this way ?

I'm using JJ OS2XL

Can't do that, I'm using both hands to play keyboard at the same time :hmmm:

Also notice : since using OS2XL (was using free JJ OS prior to that) I only need to press stop once to get the triple-click effect, which is not really a good thing cuz when I stop any sequence, I also stop all my samples, can that be changed ? can't find that info in the manual.

Ah, so it's live performance, right?

I can't pad mute it because I'm already in a new sequence with different programs.

Can't you pre-define pad mute (mute group or mute target) on this event? Imagine you already have a mute event on the last tick of your sequence. Now, if you play live and you make this looping effect it will stop sounding as soon as it reach this (mute) note.

One more thing. What settings have you got in Track Mute > Window?

Also.. in Mode 10 > Misc. What you got there in Truncate Duration? try "end of sequence". This should sort out your problem without doing anything more.
first try this^^

Hi, thanks for the tip Bugfix, can't really place an event in the sequence, somtimes the sequence is just a loop so that muting event would come every time it loops, also, I actually want the sound/pad to bleed onto the next sequence, which it does, but then I'm on another program.

I found a working solution :

If I go on another sequence while a loop&hold pad is still playing, even if it's a different program, the pad that use to launch the sound will mute it if you hit it. Almost weird in a way because it only works with pads set to loop&hold, could be a useful bug. There is a problem though : the analogous pad will mute the sound from the other program BUT it will also launch the new sound associated with the new program configuration, in other words, you need to have nothing on that same pad when you switch sequences or you will forcibly launch an undesired sound.

So to make it work in my set, I really need to adjust my setlist accordingly, some songs, most pads have nothing on them, on others, they're full of stuff.

Hello,

The L&H feature is nice but has a lot of limitations. Here is what is written in the online manual :

Image

You can add incompatibilities with SIMULT/CYCLE and LOOPER mode.
As mentioned it's recorded as duration, i.e. approximately 5m30 at 120bpm (I don t remember the correct figure right now. The duration has raised to 65000 by the way)

The point you mentioned is right, as it works like an ON/OFF switch, regardless of sequences/tracks/programs if you press the same pad one more time it will stop the l&h sample.

In a different live context (training at scratching with instrumentals launched from the MPC) I have a program full of l&h samples. Regardless of the program poly/mono setting there is a mean to "bypass" partially that ON/OFF behaviour. If you put all the l&h samples on the same mute group, you still have that ON/OFF behavior for the pressed pad but if you press another pad, it will cut the previous one and play immediately on the fly. It's really nice to keep having fun :-D

If you know other l&h limitations don't hesitate to report them, I will add everything in the JJOS2XL limitation thread I created in the bug subsection later.
