If u wanna create that glitchy type sound without chopping up samples manually, check out a plugin called "Phutboyslim". I have messed around with it and its awesome!!! It just takes a bit of playing around to get it right!

Nice. How do you treat your drums to get them to sound like that? It sounds like you might be modulating them with a fast LFO maybe? Or are you retriggering them rapidly?
I've been trying to get my drums real crunchy like that but I'm having a lot of trouble. I have a couple of synths...can you help me out?

word. that's what i've been doing. i have a sidstation and some stuff i'm about to circuit-bend before i can complete what i'm working on. i got some fam that will spit some rhymes on top of it. i'm looking forward to getting more people involved when the time is right.

Some of the original glitch artists would scratch (literally, like with a razor or something) the bottom of a CD, and then play it......the scratched CD would start skipping and "glitching" out......and they would sample the weird clicks and digital glitches that this would produce, and make tracks from it.
If you're curious and you want to get your feet wet (or ears wet) and check out some glitch techno.....there was a good compilation series that came out several years ago called "Clicks & Cuts." There were 3 different volumes.
This would be a decent place to start.
This stuff isn't "glitch-hop" necessarily though......that came when people started to fuse the glitch techniques with hiphop rhythms.

Keep your samples at regular length and just chop for the desired start point. Then make your desired sample length by adjusting your note length to small amounts of tics and repeat and spread the notes as desired.

pitch up every sound and add a short decay with a fast attack. cut off sounds in the middle. keep all sounds short.
If im working on a beat and it sounds like krap or there is no groove and when im stuck, ill make that stuff glitch and add another groove on top

you should check the 'edit remix' from daedelus. Its on a EP called 'something bells' the track is **** awesome, if they put the word glitchhop in a libary that track should be included with it. Also check http://www.secretmommy.com/ they have some nice tracks. Venetian snares are dope too if ur a bit into drum and bass.
