MPC4000 SSD installed issues

Just to report to y'all that my Kingwin ADP-06 'SATA to IDE Bridge Board' adaptor arrived today.

I opened up my MPC4000 (ARRRRRRRRRRRGH every time I spend 20 minutes doing that, I curse the idiot hardware designers!!!) and swapped the my existing SATA > IDE adaptor for this one.

It works *perfectly*! I also have a Plextor CD-R/W drive installed. When the MPC4000 boots, there is at most 2 seconds of "Searching Disks..." then it find them both absolutely fine.

Clearly this Kingwin ADP-06 is just GOOD and WORKS PROPERLY, and the other SATA > IDE adaptor I'd tried was a piece of crap.

Very pleased now

Yep the Kingwin is a good one. I tried one of those $4 ones from PRC and it was no good. I reckon the Startech one is probably a good one too.

I got to get another Kingwin adapter because they also work in late 90's E-mu Ultra samplers.

its the same on my mpc with ordinary harddrive.

what is the loading time on say, 300 megabyte content on the ssd?

Not at all - it was cheap and we gotta try these things. Second time lucky is OK!

Feline you still have the 4000! I was here when it first dropped and we were the beta testers. I cant remember my forum name though. I was trying to find my old posts.

In many ways were were... took about 18 months before we pointed out to them that SysEx didn't work

I didnt use it much back than. I only transferred sounds over. Good to see you still here.

That appears to be the same kingwin I used.

Not sure about the SSD, but prolly would be fine.
