you can apply fx to keygroup programs (and plugin programs), but not to drum programs. In drum programs, you have to apply the fx to individual pads, or use sends.


Is there a way to convert a drum program to a keygroup program without having to basically remake it from scratch?

That would be a nice feature. That and....a Keygroup option when converting slices to a program. In addition to.....when creating a Keygroup program...there should be an option to select the number of key groups, number of keys per Keygroup, etc then the Ren should auto create the program with these settings. It is tedious to create a Keygroup program on the Ren.

maschine has group level FX... so MPC should have pgm level fx.

Obviously the Ren is not Maschine. The Ren has master insert and send FXs, track insert/send FXs, drum program insert/send FXs per pad, and Keygroup program insert/send effects.

I am all FX out today.... :lol:

But the REN has a completely different track structure than Maschine, the REN has 128 tracks and Maschine has only 8 tracks (each group is a track). You could easily use a track in the REN just like a group in Maschine, let's examine it.
Maschine's group - each pad has insert/send fx, all pads together (group) has insert/send fx, each pad can have a sample on it, each pad can have a VST on it .
One of the REN's tracks - does the same except for VSTs on a per pad basis.

So basically you could accomplish the same thing with one of the REN's tracks that Maschine's groups can do.
