Thanks MPC-Tutor for soliciting such a helpful response. Im sure there is demand for SP1200 faceplates, at least there would be if they were already available. I'll email Jeff again.

customsynth wrote:hi i found the only way to restors the faceplate was to change it for a replica , once you start to take off the original film , ( that was applied to protect the text ) removes the text with it , i use label remover to help release the glue from the label , and then clean it after by scraping it off , once this is done the case can be washed in soapy water , rinsed and dried , the case could then be resprayed / touched up if needed , a new replica sticker can then be applied , and the holes cut out with a craft knife , at the moment i havent any left , but could do a run if anyone is interested in ordering any , they would work out at about £20 + shipping each , mail me at [email protected] if interested or find me on facebook http://www.facebook.com/#!/custom.synth

i need a new faceplate for the SP-12 [not 1200]... and i'd be willing to pay the £20 + shipping for a professionally done one... please keep us posted.

I should not even reply to this but .... :hmmm: :hmmm: :hmmm: :hmmm: ...

I am simply not believing what I read here .....

Same applies to Renato Rizoli, I guess some people are solely motivated by money. Happy to take but uncomfortable with giving. Only here for one reason, and could learn the art of sharing from Bruce Forat and Mike at MPC Stuff...

Clint, do you seriously mean Renato is just for the profit ?

C'mon son !!! I am going out of business because I am completely broke because of helping a lot of people and taking nearly no cash !!!

Read once again the answer to your PM concerning this faceplate ... I told you that other people would do a better job for less money. ---> That is what you call profit ?

I didn't want to share knowledge yet because I spent a lot of time and money building this process. I wanted to clear properly my business first

And, do you seriously think I just asked someone "how do you customize musical gear ?", got an answer and built a business plan ?

Stop begging for informations!!!! Collect them, think, try, do prototypes and DIY !!!!!!!

Stop acting like a spoiled child if you don't want me to talk to you like one

PS : I just realized you were a moderator here ... sick ... You should have moderated yourself

Wow!
That seems a little unfair...
Yes the forum is for sharing but...
How can anyone expect a business to just hand out the info that keeps them going?

I don't remember ever seeing free os or hxc or any other service on here.

The people who "make profit" from the music tech community are also the people who give you replacement parts, new inventive upgrades, customisation and keep the machines going.

Money makes a business and a business keeps a service for a customer

No money = no service

Anyone providing a service has done the homework, the info is out there and so is your search engine.

you dipsh!ts can take this childish beef to the school playground... in the meantime let's stay on topic because i'd actually like an SP-12 faceplate some day without people like customsynth ignoring us for acting like assh0les in the thread... keep that beef in PM.

and for whatever it's worth... forat, who is extremely expensive, has told me places where i can get certain parts without going through him or making any profit.

That's ironic!
You are an expert member and you don't know how to do something as simple as create a faceplate.

EVERYONE... Look how valuable and abusive this expert member is!

If you can't come up with a solution of your own it's best not to bad mouth potential help.

ironically, nothing i said was aimed at you as i considered you a bystander... but thanks for letting me know how you really feel

just fyi the "expert member" is an automated title given to members due to their post count... i don't choose what it says there.

now would you mind where in your deluded logic me knowing how to use MPCs has anything to do with knowing how to make a goddam faceplate for the SP-12. your logic seems a bit flawed.

now again.. can clint and renato keep their beef in PM so that people who can actually provide some service won't just back away from this forum? thank you...

These look fairly simple to reproduce ,
However I don't have an sp to reference.
That's the only problem that I see.
Go to your favorite local ,Full Color vinyl sign shop.
And have them scan and recreate it.
It's gonna cost you, but at least you got it.
I think that a lot a people have a warped idea of
What custom is and the costs involved in custom.
Custom equals special or unique , there is a cost
For somebody to work on a one off artwork.
I don't really see how anybody can be mad ,
Or argue
The money it costs to work on a commissioned
Art piece, if ya can't afford it don't get it, pretty simple!
I , like most am motivated by money and betterment
For my family , I will be charging , what I feel is a fair
Price for my customs and I'm SURE ,I'm still going
To catch a bunch a sh!t for it.
I refuse to feel bad about it either, when ya work hard
On a beat for HOURS , you gonna give that sh!t away or
Sell it for dirt cheap???

Renato, I respect your work and art, it has motivated me
To pursue customs for profit.
Even though I'm pretty new to this ,I have heard about you
For years.

If somebody can scan this to size, and send it to me
I can vector/recreate it and print and cut this to spec.
Once I see the actual size and complexity , I can post
A price. Like I said , I don't have an sp to reference
or I would of Already had these cut.

For the record all I asked Ghost and RR is if they knew how to remove the peeling film. Nothing more nothing less. That post from RR was a bit salty, but revealing nontheless lol.

And to think I actually bought stuff from RR...all the best with your 'business'.

Keep this on topic, PM me if you must.

That must be tedious to cut that out. :hmmm: A request though, the emu letters and 1200 are a little off. I would pay more if you could get them pre cut.
